Trespass Vineyard - News & Events
May 2010
To quote Robert Parker from his recent issue of the Wine Advocate; "2007 is no doubt the greatest vintage for Bordeaux varietals in Napa since 2001 and 2002. There is a freshness, delineation, and laser-like focus... that speaks well to the continuing development of terriors." We are thrilled to offer you the first three wines from Trespass Vineyard, from this exceptional vintage.
The 2007 growing season was a treat for us. The temperatures were relatively mild throughout the summer, with only a few heat spikes. This allowed our fruit to ripen slowly and evenly, which helped the fruit flavors develop beautifully. We decided to increase the percentage of new oak used on the wines, and are very happy with the results.
With this release, in addition to the Cabernet Franc, Merlot and Rendezvous, we would like to introduce a new wine, Trespass Intrigue. It is a blend of 56% Cabernet Sauvignon and 44% Merlot. This wine came about during our several blending sessions, as we noticed quite a nice result from the combination of those two lots. While we focused on our usual wines, we kept going back to that blend. Why note, we thought! Let's make some to share!
Another "new" item at Trespass is our black lab puppy, Miss Bodie. She can't wait to join us regularly for tastings on the patio... that is after we can train her not to chase every rabbit she sees running through the vineyard! It is funny how as the children are leaving the nest, we find a way to fill it up again. She brings a smile to us each day with her happy, curious disposition.
In closing, we try to be compliant with state regulations when shipping our wine, which includes collecting sales tax where required. Rather than quote every different tax rate, please allow us to make an adjustment to your order if necessary. We are happy to provide you with any details and shipping options. Just give us a call any time.
